I’ve been playing with AI a bit… it can build a life size sand castle with a drawbridge and a moat, or it can be a kid drawing figures in the sand with a stick. AI is an amazing tool, but a tool that needs to be monitored. At least it did not delete my database…
I have been experiencing a variety of repeating issues. One of the most annoying has been ignoring explicit directions. I made a prompt to create blog posts with a specific word count range. Let’s just say they ended up waaaay longer.
This is related to the above issue, the AI overbuilds. I give it some instructions, tell it to not do anything more than what is requested, and it BUILDS! In conjunction with this, it forgets what code is available. Example -> some core functions exist that the AI created, it is directed to use them in another function, and it tries to reinvent the wheel it just built.
I am being “sensitive” about this because I go over instruction sets with other models so they can be optimized for the model that reads them. I use the outcomes as proof it is not me! It just gets frustrating when trying to complete a project… Maybe I should take an “official” prompt creation course.
AI is constantly making upgrades and improvements across so many apps and LLM’s. Hopefully, it gets better, not just different. There is a long way to go, and no one knows where that road will lead. Let alone where it will end.
