Learning A Bit

  • How do I keep ending up with time away from the computer?

I did spend some significant time in the real world, and I have been spending more time on the computer, though it is hard to prove. More on that in a few… I was gone for a while because I sold my house. That is a very stressful and time consuming endeavor. Between prepping, always…

  • PicClip

PicClip is another app I, and AI, put together. I created this because EasyCrop (a Mac app from YellowMug) is no longer available, nor will it work after the next update to MacOS because it is Intel based. YellowMug does not have a newer version. Yes, there are a multitude of (paid) options to choose…

  • CookieTrap – A Firefox Extension

I have always been a little curious about what websites leave behind in my browser. Not paranoid (ok, a little), just… curious. Turns out, the answer is “a lot more than you’d think.” So I built something about it. Full disclosure, I built this using AI. But it was a guided build. I had the…

  • Results From The AI Summit With Friends

Recently, a few friends and I got together for a few days to learn from our resident AI whisperer. I had been playing with AI for a bit, but this was a little more “formal”. I won’t bore you with all the details, but this was one of the biggest takeaways -> I created a…

  • Not all LLM are created equal

Over the holidays, while I was slacking from doing important computer work, I ended up at a casino. While there, I won a few bucks on my favorite game, roulette. Upon returning home, I looked for a roulette app, and there are plenty! But they have the “to play, I have to pay or give…

  • Another Busy Week…

It has been another busy week. For AI in general, and for myself. On Tuesday, OpenAI had its keynote. And did they announce some stuff! Now on to what’s important! It is time I actively look for a new job. In an effort to keep a semblance of privacy, I am setting up a local…

  • Something From “Early” AI

This is a little something that was getting started for work, but progress has stalled. It appears they are going to use a different implementation. (I am not giving away any work details here…) Essentially, it is an AI based web page that utilizes a local LLM. The main idea was to upload information, and…

  • More on AI…

While I have yet to take an actual COURSE on how to do prompt engineering, but I have read some documentation. For me, this is progress. I prefer to jump in and see if I can figure things out, especially if it is consumer facing. Also, I have asked ChatGPT and Claude to assist me…

  • AI is a lot…

I’ve been playing with AI a bit… it can build a life size sand castle with a drawbridge and a moat, or it can be a kid drawing figures in the sand with a stick. AI is an amazing tool, but a tool that needs to be monitored. At least it did not delete my…

  • An AI engineered prompt

Although I have not been updating this blog, or my Github as I intended, that does not mean I have not been learning. I have always been better at organizing other people’s stuff than my own! For example, at work I hooked up OpenAI’s API to our contact form to automatically catch spam before it…
